Performance Indicators

CRITERIA AND INDICATORS FOR THE SELECTION OF
GOOD-PRACTICE CASE STUDIES

cubo copiaThe selected indicators have the function to help in the assessment of the objectives set in the project / initiative and measure their impacts, understood as identifiable changes that demonstrate the extent to which the activities have an effect on the target group.

Performance indicators include measurable results in terms of energy saved, RES supply increased, greenhouse gas emissions reduced, investments mobilised and, as far as information is available, it addresses environmental and economic impact assessments.

The results chain

  • Project life time.
  • Existence of clearly defined objectives.
  • Existence of tangible results.

Impacts in terms of renewable energy production and energy savings

  • Annual primary energy consumption.
  • Energy consumption by sector (transport, housing, industry, tourism, agriculture…).
  • Primary energy consumption per capita.
  • Renewable energy production.
  • Net energy import dependence.
  • Primary energy savings (RE & Energy Efficiency)
  • Reduction of greenhouse gas emission.
  • Ratio of local renewable production to local consumption of energy.
  • Production of electricity from renewable sources.
  • Electricity consumption per capita.
  • Ratio of local renewable electricity production to total consumption.

Social and economic impacts

  • Employment
  • The sustainable energy investments triggered
