Renewable Energies for Spanish Biosphere Reserves

Guidelines, recommendations and success stories.

CoverRERBThe book “Energías Renovables para las Reservas de la Biosfera” (Renewable energies for Biosphere Reserves) is the result of the work carried out by managers, researches, technicians and RE industry representatives during the “First Workshop on Renewable Energies for Spanish Biosphere Reserves”, held in Castellet i La Gornal – Barcelona (headquarters of the UNESCO Centre for Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves), in November 2013.

The content of this book includes a proposal of guidelines for developing a sustainable energy strategy in biosphere reserves, case studies and recommendations for a renewable energy future.

The Spanish network of biosphere reserves includes 45 sites that now covering 9.5% of the land territory of Spain.
