Sian Ka’an

Along the coast of Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve a number of houses have been developed for those families who wish to spend their holidays in the Mexican Caribbean. These houses have been built under strict environmental standards, which ensure that ecosystems are not negatively impacted by them. Mandatory use of renewable energy systems is one of the determining factors for the construction and operation of these rest houses. Environmental regulations require the owners of these houses to have efficient wastewater treatment systems.
