El lajial
Less than 20,000 years ago, the volcanic edifice of the southernmost rift, consisting in the Montaña de El Júlan – Gorona de El Lajial began to emit lava flows from EL LAJIAL, that now cover the southern side of the island down to the sea. These were highly fluid basalt lava flows that formed cascades, channels, volcanic tubes and lava lakes, all of which are in a fine state of preservation.
