BiosphereSMART as a platform associated with UNESCO

Biosphere Smart Initiative approved as UNESCO partner platform

During the 24th session of the International Coordinating Committee of the UNESCO MaB Program held in Paris between 11-14 July 2012, the Biosphere Smart Initiative was approved as a platform associated with UNESCO. Link to the Council's final published report.

It defends the creation of a digital platform worldwide for the exchange of knowledge in the promotion of green economies.

It is UNESCO's interest that this initiative transcend the World Network of Biosphere Reserves and that this be its collaborative platform specializing in key issues such as energy sustainability (renewable and energy efficiency), green economies, intelligent urban spaces and climate change.
