The International Coordination Council of the Man and Biosphere Program (MaB) of UNESCO has incorporated three Spanish enclaves to the World Network of Biosphere Reserves, with which Spain, with a total of 45, becomes In the second country of the world in number of reserves.
At the meeting held in Paris, the Biosphere Reserves of Marinas Coruñesas and Tierras del Mandeo in Galicia, the Ebro Lands in Tarragona and the Royal Site of San Ildefonso-El Espinar in Segovia were declared. In addition, the Ordesa-Viñamañala Biosphere Reserve has been approved in Aragon, which will double its area, going from 51,396 hectares to 117,364 hectares.
