The Laguna wins 147 million in 13 years with the title of Unesco.

La Laguna celebrated last December 2 its thirteenth anniversary since Unesco incorporated the municipality in its list of World Heritage cities. In this time, according to the data that are handled in the Office of Management of the Helmet after the implementation of the Special Plan (PEP), have invested 147 million euros to improve the city.

On 2 December 1999, in Morocco, a Unesco delegation included La Laguna among the most historically and artistically valuable cities in the world. It was proclaimed Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Next to the municipality of Tenerife, another 48 cities were added to this select club. Since then, the physical, social and economic changes have been more than evident in the streets of the hull.

Proof of this are the figures. Private investment has doubled to the public: 105 million compared to 42 million allocated by public administrations. But the good numbers of the lagoon helmet do not stay there. Since the drafting of the document protecting the historic center, 38,930 square meters have been redeveloped in the city center. The improvements also translate into new homes in this heritage space, up to 450 new homes have been built in the area.
