The International MaB Committee of UNESCO approves the Biosphere Smart Initiative promoted from the Biosphere Reserve of Fuerteventura
Biosphere Smart, is a tool of Territorial Intelligence to support the managers and managers of the Biosphere Reserves, as part of the transition to green economies, or following the premises set by the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development. Rio 20: Sustainable development proposes "to think globally to act locally".
Currently under development, it has the participation of various reserves and institutions: Biosphere Reserve Network of the Canary Islands, Madeira Biosphere Reserve, Government of the Canary Islands, MaB Spain program .... And sponsorship of the UNESCO.
It is precisely the support of all these agencies that allows the fulfillment of the objectives Marked for Biosphere Smart: facilitating collaboration, exchange of knowledge ... among the Biosphere Reserves of the entire planet, also involving researchers, the academic sector and the Society in general.
