Buganda government is turning to solar energy to improve electricity supplies at Kasubi Royal tombs (Uganda) Sito Patrimonio dell'Umanità
The Trans-African Supply Services limited company (TASS) and Village Power solutions have finalised to establish a Solar panel power supply systems plant that is going to provide with electric energy to Kasubi Royal Tombs, the system has been handed over to Buganda Kingdom and launched by the 2nd deputy Katikkiro Mohamood Ssemambo Ssekimpi at Kasubi-Nabulagala.
The Buganda Kingdom state minister for tourism, Ritah Namyalo said, after finalising the Kasubi project, Photo Gallery, Busiro and Kyaggwe and by the end of the year all counties will be covered.
The “Buganda Yaka Ne Solar” is an initiative being proposed by Ssaabasajja Kabaka so that communities would be supplied with the facility so that his subjects in villages can access solar energy at a cheaper price more so to avoid fire accidents caused by local lamps (Munaku tadooba).
TASS is a Germany based company which deals with supplying solar power systems in Sub-Saharan Africa.
